I know he studies the Bible deeply and visited Israel often. I feel that he's misunderstood that the political government of Israel is not the same as the spiritual kingdom and restoration of God's people. Karl Barth: keep the Bible in one hand and the newspaper in the other. I don’t understand why, as a minister, you ignored the news for 20 years. Are Evangelicals reachable? Not when their ministers are ignoring the news, and even worse, when their news comes from Fox, and Fox’s news comes from the Father of Lies.
You're absolutely right. In my case it had the positive effect of detoxifying me from the right wing echo chamber I’d been in before I quit listening, but I should have done that detox for a few years and re-engaged.
I honestly don't know much Trump can keep going on like this. So in the event that Trump departs the scene, I wonder what impact that will have on the primary mission.
As for culture, Schein studied it in organizations -- how cultures are created and built. In his view, "a pattern of shared basic assumptions that the group learned as it solved its problems of external adaptation and internal integration."
When a group has perceived "liberals" and "woke, progressive Christians" and "empathy" as problems, a culture takes on substance around those "threats" and enemies."
Cultural anthropology is a valuable discipline towards understanding. (Maslow's work starts to apply here too.)
Thank you Pat! I am seeing Trump voters beginning to change their minds. We had to switch churches because our old church became a MAGA cult. and I’ve had many conversations with my mother, who was a 3 time Trump voter and is now very depressed and confused about the chaos that he is creating.
I don't think it is or they will and I think if they're not very Christian most of the people that profess to be Christians don't act very Christian and actually go against the Christians beliefs behavior shows that and the Christian nationalists believe in pedophilia which goes to the deep South I know it too well I don't think God would believe in pedophilia

So, I changed my allegiance to the Liberals and am praying that our PM Mark Carney gets the vote.
Now, Jack Klassen and I live with 250 elders in various stages of decline! They are wonderful people and lots are Catholics, and lots are neither! This is my church body now, accepting everybody. We are one and worship happily and lovingly together. What a gift this is to us! Like Christian Women’s club, we don’t talk about age, weight or religion!

"Culture" is a word we often toss around, but do we really have a good grasp of what it means? By 'good grasp" I mean a shared understanding.
I will defer to Edgar Schein's take on it. His 1985 book, "Organizational Culture and Leadership," laid it out pretty well.
It's a very important word and concept. The understanding may be helpful in the goal of reaching those in the Trump culture.
